NSFRC 2026 Call for Petitions

2026 NSFRC Call for Petitions

Hi Fellow Silver Fox Lovers:

It is that time of year again, "Call for Petitions!" The National Silver Fox Rabbit Club is preparing for the 2026 election cycle and is inviting members to submit petitions for the following positions:

  • President
  • Secretary
  • Three (3) Board Members

These positions play a vital role in guiding our club’s future and ensuring strong leadership.

Petition Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026

What Is a "Call for Petitions"?

A "Call for Petitions" is simply the process by which members notify the club that they would like to run for office. Utilizing a Call for Petitions process allows for full transparency and fairness to all.

Once a petition is submitted, the Club Secretary confirms that the candidate:

  1. Meets the qualifications for the office sought
  2. Is a member in good standing with NSFRC
  3. Meets ARBA membership requirements where applicable

These requirements are outlined in the NSFRC Constitution and Bylaws. A copy is attached to this email.

How Do I Write a Petition?

Members interested in running for office should submit a short written statement to the Election Chair at election@nsfrc.com by July 1st indicating:

  • The position they are seeking
  • Why they are interested in serving
  • Any information they would like voting members to know about them

Your statement is published exactly as submitted and becomes part of the election materials distributed to voting members.

What Should Be Included?

Candidates may wish to include:

  • Experience with Silver Fox rabbits
  • Involvement in NSFRC or other rabbit organizations
  • Professional or leadership experience
  • Goals for the club such as:
    • What is your top priority for NSFRC as an officer/director?
    • Where do you see the club in five years?
    • What motivated you to run for this position?
  • Projects you would like to support during your term

Last year, most candidates submitted letters, while one candidate submitted a résumé. Petition formats may vary slightly.

Suggested Petition Guidelines for 2026

The Election Committee is discussing ways to help standardize petitions while keeping them informative and easy for members to read.

Please try to keep petition statements to approximately 200–350 words, suitable for publication on Facebook and the club website.

Adding a photo is encouraged.

This year we are using OpaVote, a dedicated online voting platform. Candidates may be asked to provide a shorter 50–75 word summary or a brief bullet-point overview for the online ballot.
